Social Evil-Smoking

Every cigarette a man smokes may shorten his life by an average of five and half minutes.
Cigaratte smoking is the major cause of the illness and premature death. Yet people who smoke either cannot believe that such illness will affect them, or are unable or unwilling to give up smoking and thus improve their lives.
Tobacco smoke is dangerous because of the nicotine, carbon monoxide, Tars and poisonous substances it contains. Even ‘passive’ smokers, who inhale the smoke of others, are at some risk. Exposure to other people’s smoke involves, it has been suggested, about a third of the risk associated with smoking a cigarette yourself.
Lung cancer among – smokers who live with heavy smokers is twice a high as in Non – Smoker who live in homes where nobody smokes. Small children are especially at risk from cigarette smoke it can cause respiratory infection which leave the lungs damaged for life.
The reasons why people start smoking are often markedly different from those the sustain the habit. Curiosity, the desire to impress or appear adult, or pressure from others are all common reasons.
Like other drugs, nicotine is addictive, and smoking is a drug addiction. Smokers regulate the does of nicotine in their blood automatically, and smoke more less accordingly. Smoking also causes psychological dependence, which makes giving up even harder.
